Perioperative Best Practices & Procedures
This 1-day Perioperative Best Practices and Procedures Workshop is designed primarily for RN’s and techs within the specialty areas of Cath Lab and Labor and Delivery to prepare learners with cognitive knowledge, affective behavior skills, and the interactive, hands-on education necessary to work in a surgical perioperative environment. Upon completion of the one-day course, students will be able to demonstrate competency by applying the theory of aseptic technique within a simulated environment.

CE Certificates will be issued after 100% attendance. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP #07960, for 7 contact hours.
Topics include:
- Understand the perioperative environment, equipment, and the required usage documentation
- Adherence to principles of surgical attire and traffic patterns
- Apply sterile techniques to create sterile fields and maintain sterility of the field during procedures
- Understand the principles and practice for fire safety in a procedural area
- Understanding the principles and practice for prevention of retained surgical items
- Understand the responsibilities when handling tissue implants
