Essentials of Critical Care (ECCO) & Simulation Skills Days
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The ECCO & Simulation/Skills Critical Care Course is an entry level program that blends online learning and three days of simulation scenarios and critical care skill stations. The ECCO consists of 18 modules:
Simulation Skills Days consist of case study scenarios that use full body human-like patient simulators for practicing bedside management of patients with complex disorders. Simulation scenarios allow assessment and treatment of patients with complex disorders involving airway management, drug titration, cardiac dysrhythmias and multi-system problems.
The focus of the simulation/skills days are to allow hands-on practice and promote the application and synthesis of the ECCO module content. The participant is able to practice critical thinking, decision making skills, and interventions in a safe learning environment.
During the course participants should expect to spend approximately 2-4 hours a day completing the online ECCO modules in conjunction with work in the clinical area under the direction of a qualified RN preceptor.
ECCO and Simulation/Skills Days:
To prepare for the Simulation/Skills days participants must complete the corresponding ECCO modules which range from 16-21 hours depending on the component content. These ECCO modules must be completed in order to attend the corresponding Simulation/Skills days.
COURSE MATERIALS:
Course fees include access to the required on-line modules
COURSE PRE-REQUISITES:
COURSE FEES:
$799 - Consortium Sponsored Hospitals
$975 - Non-Consortium Sponsored Hospital or Community Member
