Rhythm Interpretation, Beyond the Basics...

COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This one-day course is designed for emergency room, telemetry, and critical care staff that have basic EKG skills or have completed the Basic Cardiac Monitoring Course and desire more insight into arrhythmia interpretation.
TOPICS
TO BE PRESENTED ARE:
- Re-entry mechanisms such as Wolf-Parkinson-White (WPW) and paroxysmal supra ventricular tachycardia (PSVT)
- Bundle branch blocks
- Ventricular tachycardia (VT) vs. supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT)
- Advanced pacemakers and implanted cardiac defibrillators (ICDs)
- Basic EKG changes that occur during a myocardial infraction (MI)
- Basic EKG skills are a must!
- This class will not discuss 12 Lead interpretations.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this course, the participants
will be able to:
- Identify the re-entry mechanism of Wolf-Parkinson-White
(WPW) and paroxysmal supra ventricular tachycardia (PSVT).
- Differentiate the different types of bundle branch blocks.
- Differentiate between ventricular tachycardia (VT) and
supra ventricular tachycardia (SVT).
- Discuss pacemaker and implanted cardiac defibrillator
(ICD) settings and their associated EKG tracings.
- Discuss basic EKG changes that occur during a myocardial
infarction (MI)

Registration deadline is one week before class, or when
the class limit is reached. Registration is by mail only and
will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Hospital
facilitators may fax registration.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing,
CEP# 07960, for 7 contact hours.
REFUNDS
The registration fee will be refunded provided notice of cancellation
is given in writing 14 days prior to course date. The registration
fee will be refunded in full if, for any reason, Continuing
Education Consortium cancels the program.
