COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This
ten topic basic educational series is part of the Critical
Care Nursing Course.
Organized
into components, the course allows RNs/LVNs currently employed
in acute care hospitals to enhance their knowledge of specific
body systems. Each component has a coordinator responsible
for the specific content and, in addition to teaching, they
utilize the expertise of health professionals from various
Sacramento area hospitals to supplement the educational offering.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
- Review anatomy and physiology of specific topics discussed
- Relate specific disease processes with physiologic changes
- Discuss appropriate medical and nursing interventions
for specific disease processes
- Successfully complete post-test for specific component
COURSE
CRITERIA
- Completion of mandatory readings prior to class
- Completion of evaluations
- Pass a multiple choice post-test with 80% accuracy and
return the test within one week after the section ends.
- Attendance of the ENTIRE component

Registration deadline is one week prior to class date,
or when the class limit is reached.
Registration
is by mail only and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve
basis. Hospital facilitators may fax registration.

The registration fee will be refunded provided notice of cancellation
is given in writing 14 days prior to course date. The registration
