LEAD EKG
7:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This
one-day program is designed for the medical-surgical healthcare
professional who is experienced in basic dysrhythmia interpretation
and desires information on identifying 12-lead EKG changes
that represent a myocardial infarction.
COURSE
OBJECTIVES
- Recognize proper lead placement for 12 lead EKG.
- Apply bedside monitoring leads in appropriate configuration.
- Describe EKG changes caused by injury, ischemia, and
infarction.
- Identify the coronary arteries.
- Indicate specific area of infarction related to EKG changes.
- Identify three common complications for each type of
MI.
- Identify candidates for thrombolytic therapy.
ATTENTION:
This is NOT a basic cardiac monitoring class. A basic
cardiac monitoring class is a strongly recommended prerequisite.

INFORMATION Upon receipt of your registration form, a
confirmation letter stating date, time and location will be
sent. If you do not receive confirmation in approximately
2 weeks, please contact our office immediately. Your confirmation
letter will act as an acknowledgment of your enrollment in
the course. If you have any questions prior to class, please

INFORMATION
Registration deadline is one week before the first class
date, or when the class limit is reached. Registration is
by mail only and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve
basis. Hospital facilitators may fax registration.

C.E. INFORMATION
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing,
CEP# 07960, for 7 contact hours.
REFUNDS
The registration fee will be refunded provided notice of cancellation
is given in writing 14 days prior to course date. The registration
fee will be refunded in full if, for any reason, Continuing
Education Consortium cancels the program.
