 Cardiac Monitoring Course (CMC) 

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 4-day Cardiac Monitoring Course is designed to acquaint the learner with essential information necessary to interpret basic EKG tracings and care for patients on Telemetry Units. Designed for RN's and Monitor Techs, the training includes nursing and MT actions, rhythm causes and medications. Please note: This is an entry level course - Advanced dysrhythmias will NOT be discussed. 

On the final day of class, participants will complete a Competency Exam and if needed, will stay to attend a remediation session. This instructor led remediation session will prepare the participant for the required retesting, which will occur on a subsequent date.

COURSE PREREQUISITES (if applicable):
Non-licensed registrants must attend required Prep Cardiac Monitoring Workshop

COURSE COMPLETION CRITERIA
In order to obtain a Certificate of Completion, participants must:
  • Attend every class in sequence, in its entirety
  • Complete all required readings, homework and daily quizzes
  • Pass recognition quiz of urgent arrhythmia's with 100% accuracy
  • Successfully complete a multiple choice and rhythm interpretation exam with >85% accuracy.
  • Complete course evaluations

C.E. INFORMATION 
CE Certificates will be issued after 100% attendance.
Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, CEP #07960, for 24 contact hours.
